Actividades:

FIRST SESSION.

1st Activity:  Warm-up. My first activity is a warm-up, where I read the register and revise work from the previous lesson. It also serves for the students to relax and focus on the lesson.

Timing: 5 minutes. Grouping: whole class. Evaluation: Initial.

2nd Activity: Present vocabulary. In this activity I'm going to present the vocabulary through the use of flashcards. I show them the objects and ask them to repeat chorally and then individually. In this way I can check their pronunciation.

Timing: 10 minutes. Grouping: whole class. Evaluation: Initial.

3rd Activity: Practice vocabulary. In this activity the students are going to consolidate the vocabulary from the previous activity. I'm going to do two activities.

The first activity consists of pointing to correct flashcard which I have stuck on the walls around the class. I pronounce a word and the students have to point to the correct flashcard.

The second activity is a Bingo. I give them a Bingo card with six pictures from the vocabulary. I take out a flashcard from a bag and read the word and the students cross out if they have it on their card. The first to shout Bingo wins.

Special needs student will be placed with a strong student in order to have a good model beside him/her.

Timing: 15 minutes. Grouping: whole class/individual. Evaluation: Formative.

4th Activity: Practice the written word. In this activity I write the vocabulary on the board and hand out the flashcards among the students. Each student has to stick the correct flashcard under the correct word. Once everybody has finished they copy the words into the picture dictionary.

Timing: 10 minutes. Grouping: Individual. Evaluation: Formative.

5th Activity: Halloween Card. The students are going to follow the instructions to make a pop-up card, they use two pieces of cards, one is for support and the other is the background. They make two rectangular cuts in the support card which they can fold and use to stick pictures of their favourite Halloween character, they stick both cards together and they have produced a pop-up Halloween card.

Timing: 10 minutes. Grouping: Individual. Evaluation: Formative.

In this session we have used the following materials: flashcards, Bingo cards and picture dictionary.

8th Activity: Listening to the story. Now the students are going to see the same slides using the "Alcántara" programme on the interactive whiteboard. After listening to the story I read the story line by line and the students repeat after me, chorally and individually to practise intonation and pronunciation.

Timing: 15 minutes. Grouping: whole class/ Individual. Evaluation: Initial.

9th Activity: Listen and match. In this activity I give the students a worksheet where they listen and match. They have a series of pictures, they listen to the CD and they number the pictures in the correct order, in this way they revise vocabulary.
