TITLE OF THE UNIT

My body


INTRODUCTION

This didactic unit is prepared for the third level of Primary Education, especially, for children who are studying Natural Science in a bilingual section. The title of my unit is My body! . It is based in the learning of our body taking into account the cooperative and communicative learning. In this sense, students have to learn to use the foreing language in an autonomous way with the main aim of analysing the different parts of the body and their functions.

OBJECTIVES

- To identify the main bones of the body.

- To know the skeleton: structure, form, functions…

- To connect healthy habits with the correct skeleton postures.

- To work in a cooperative way.

-To respect other points of view.

- To present a final project.

- To work in the four basic skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.


KEY COMPETENCES

-Competence in Linguistic Communication.

-Digital Competence.

-Learning to Learn.

-Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology.

-Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship.


TASKS

 The different sessions are prepared to participate actively through different games, songs or TPR exercises with the main aim of promoving the four basic linguistic skills, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing in an autonomous and cooperative way.


TIMING

 The timing is about two weeks, although I can be flexible because it is important to adapt us to the different pupils and their learning speeds. This unit is prepared for 5 sessions.

 

SESSION 1: WARM UP ACTIVITIES

- To know the pupil´s previous knowledge: TRIVIAL GAME. (Questions about the unit).

o How many bones are there in our body?

o Do you know the name of any of the bones of our body?

o What are the skeleton functions?


SESSION 2: LISTENING ACTIVITIES

- To watch an interactive video about body parts.

- To Read the different parts of the body in the flashcards and play: Simon Says…Touch your…

SESSION 4: WRITING ACTIVITIES


- Complete maps about the body






- Complete a concept map about the five senses.



SESSION 5: SPEAKING ACTIVITY- FINAL PROJECT

In a cooperative way, children have to elaborate a final project where they have to present to the rest of the class the most  important information about the previous activities in the most summarized way. (Guided lesson)
