Control and Robotics with Arduino

Control and Robotics with Arduino

The unit is aimed at students in 4th ESO of Technology subject.

This didactic unit tries to introduce the students in the control systems in a general way and in the robotics through Arduino in a particular way.

The objectives

1.     Analyze automatic and robotic systems in Arduino environment, describe their components and explain their operation.

2.     Assemble simple automations using Arduino.

3.     Develop a program to control an automatic system or a robot and its operation autonomously in the Arduino environment

4.     Use the computer as a tool for data acquisition and interpretation in automatic systems.

5.     Describe the characteristics of a robot, its applications and technical specifications.

6.     Analyze the characteristics of actuators and motors for use in control systems.

7.     Know the operation and the way to control sensors in a robotic system based on Arduino.

8.     Design and build a simple robot using Arduino.

9.     Know the operation of a 3D printer and design and print necessary parts in the development of a technological project.

10. Develop, in collaboration with your teammates, an automatic system projec

The didactic unit has a temporalization of 4 sessions for the theoretical aspects and 25 sessions for the practical aspects. Because the unit is very extensive, only the development of 2 activities is shown

To reach these objectives, the following activities are proposed:

Opening:

Video projection of a light-tracking robot based on Arduino in operation

Development

Activity 1: Identifying Arduino board parts.

It is proposed here to perform a basic matching exercise once the student has been provided with the Arduino board with which he will work. Each element of the plate must be connected with its name

Activity 2: Identifying Arduino IDE elements

In the same way as in activity 1, we propose here a matching exercise, this time with the elements of the Arduino development environment.

Activity 3: ¡ Make a Kahoot ¡

We're going to do a Kahoot on robotics. We will take advantage to learn more about the robotics kits of the institute.
