PURE SUBSTANCES AND MIXTURES

TITLE: Matter : pure substances and mixtures.

Subject: Physics and Chemistry

Course: 3º ESO

Language: English

INTRODUCTION.

I   have never taught my subject in English with AICLE methodology, I have chosen this topic because it´s very practical and intuitive and students always enjoy these  classes.

The most important thing about the lesson is learning the difference between  pure substances and mixture and homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture.

OBJECTIVES.

-To classify  as pure susbtances  and mixtures.

-To recognise different types of mixtures.

-To know about different types of  separating techniques .

- To understand the characteristics of homogeneous and heterogeneous mixtures.

- To describe the most common techniques to separate substances in a mixture.

- To value the use and the importance of chemistry in our society.

- To understand the backwashes of chemistry in living beings and the environment.

METHODOLOGY

The methodology will be active and participative. Students will work in groups to practice their oral skills, they will listen to videos, write reports and manipulate lab equipment.

SESSION 1.

·      Brainstorming about the topic.

·      Classification of matter as pure substances or mixtures according to the number of substances.

  1. Buenas tardes,

me ha encantado tu unidad. Hay muchos recursos interactivos que les pueden ser de ayuda a la hora de un aprendizaje más visual.

Los objetivos, contenidos y criterios de evaluación son claros y precisos.

    Un saludo,

    Marta.
