Healthy food

UD title: Healthy food
Course: 1º Primary
Subject: Natural Science

Context: 

This unit is about food and pupils will learn quite a lot of specific vocabulary. We will begin by foods which they have in their main meals. They have previously learned contents about some animals like pig or cow what helps them to assimilate the origen from the food.

Objectives: 

-       To classify food into food groups

-       To identify the main meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

-       To identify which foods are healthy

-     To identiy the origins of foods

Task:

Elaborate their own healthy menu.

Activities: 

·         Talk about the photograph. Name diferent meal you can see.

·         Name a fruit. Name a vegetable…

·         Listen and circle the foods for each meal

·         Tick and cross

·         What`s missing?

·          Draw typical foods to eat for (breakfast, lunch and dinner)

·         Match and write the names.

·         Students take turns to describe and draw a healthy breakfast, lunch… Cut out old magazine picture food to put a sequence of a repice.

·         Print out the posters. Each pair explains their poster to the class: We can see milk, cereals...

·         Divide the class into small groups and assign a meal to each. They have to identify a group according to its origen.

·         Now I know

  1. Me parece una unidad interesante y entretenida para los niños. Además, es una buena manera de empezar a hablarles de qué es comida sana y qué no. Buen trabajo
