Title: "The human body"
Course/Level: 4th / Primary Education
Learning outcomes:
- To identify and locate organs involved in performing vital body functions.
- To know the human body functions and organs (appliances, locations, shapes, structures, functions, care…)
- To learn healthy living practices relating to the proper functioning of the body.
- To adopt healthy lifestyle habits and to understand the health impact of bad habits.
Subject Content:
- The human body.
- The vital functions in humans: Interaction, Nutrition and Reproduction.
- Healthy habits.
SESSION 1: DYGESTIVE SISTEM POSTER (1 hour)
1. What do students already know? Firstly, we have to check student's background knowledge -> Questions and K W L

2. In groups of six students, we will give each member of the group a piece of paper with the name and function of a different organ of the digestive system.
3. Subsequently, each student in the group has to read the assigned text and all the others have to enter in a data table the name of the organ and the function.
4. Once all they have finished, card boards will be distributed to design a graphic (poster) of the digestive system.
SESSION 2: JOURNEY OF FOOD (1 hour)
- In pairs, the students will read a text about the journey of food through the human digestive system.
- Then, they have to answer some questions about the text such as: "How long does digestion takes?" "How long does food take to go through your digestive system?" "In which organ does food take more time?" (The answers to these questions will be supported by an appropriate scaffolding. We can offer a vocabulary bank too).
SESSION 3: FACIAL EXPRESSIONS (1 hour)

SESSION 4: HEALTHY HABITS CARDS (1 hour)
- Each group of six students have to draw pictures and make cards with healthy habits: hygiene, exercising, rest, balanced diet… The cards need to include at least one sentence and two or three pictures. Example: Brush your teeth after every meal.
- To assign a topic to each group, we can make a draw or something similar.
- When they finish, they have to expose to the rest of the class what their poster consists of.
- Lately, we can display all the cards on the corridor walls.

Hola Manuel. He leído tu UD sobre el cuerpo humano y me ha parecido muy interesante. Me gusta que la hayas relacionado con los hábitos de higiene saludable, además de con otras materias como las ciencias naturales. Me ha gustado mucho.

ResponderEliminarMe encanta esta UD AICLE. El cuerpo humano es un tema que les encanta a los alumnos de Primaria. Eso de poder salir y usar la PDI es muy motivador para ellos. Las actividades y recursos que usas son perfectos. Un saludo.
