Proyecto Final - Economía

UD 1 THE ECONOMY AS A SCIENCE.

4º ESO – ECONOMY

The delivery of this first unit is very important for several reasons. But we emphasize the fact that for the students of this subject is the first time that they face a subject with this content. Therefore, it is fundamental to let them see what it consists of, what expectations they have, the degree of knowledge of the economy in general and also what they hope to learn.

Learning outcomes / Evaluation criterial

1. Explain the Economy as a social science assessing the permanent impact of economic decisions on the lives of citizens. 2. Know and become familiar with basic economic terminology and the use of economic models. 3. Become aware of the basic principles of the Economy to apply in basic economic relations with the conditioners of resources and needs.

Subject Content

The Economy and its impact on the lives of citizens. Scarcity, choice and allocation of resources. The opportunity cost. How to study in Economics an approach to economic models. The basic economic relations and their representation.

ACTIVITIES

1.                Beginning: Brain storming about what students knows about Economy



The idea is to make a first approximation of the student to the content of the economy in general

2.                Distinguish different classical theories.


It will be a theoretical class where the three predominant economic theories will be presented to the student, making emphasis on the one that predominates in Spain and in the countries of our environment. I will try to promote the debate among them.

3.                Talk about news about economy.



We will use the TIC for looking for news in English and American newspaper. Also, Spanish newspaper when they are an English version.

4.                Debate about taxes, environmental problems, …



The following theoretical activities will prioritize that the students are aware of the importance of taxes or contribute for renewable energies, or the green and circular economy, such as the government of Junta de Extremadura

5.                Listening/watching: videos on YouTube.

We check webs like EDUCATINA, where we can find a lof of videos organized by items.

6.                Play Kahoot, Password, …



The idea is that this plays will be elaborate by the students as a homework.

7.                Make presentation individuals, in pair or groups

Developomg communication skills through the exposure of an oral work. They can use applications like PREZI or POWER POINT.

8.                Writing about an items of the UD.

This activity is very similar the last one, but developing writing skills.

9. Exam of the UD.
