1.     Learning outcomes / Evaluation criteria

1. Recognize the factors that intervene in the motor action and the control mechanisms of the intensity of physical activity, applying them to the practice itself and relating them to health.

2. Develop physical abilities according to personal possibilities and within the margins of health, showing an attitude of self-demanding effort.

3. Develop activities of each period of physical activity lessons, relating them to their characteristics.

4. Recognize the possibilities offered by physical-sporting activities as forms of active exercise and responsible use of the environment.

5. Control the difficulties and risks for their participation in physical activities and expressive artistic ones, analyze the characteristics of them and the motor interactions they entail, and adopt preventive and security measures in their development.

2.     Subject Content

·      General physical conditioning, contribution to the resistance, strength, flexiblity and speed. Relationship between physycal fitness and health

·      General warm up, games and exercises to do the warm up. The especific warm up.

·      To train the basic physical abilities related to health

·      Parameters to control the intensity of the effort: the heart rate and the respiratory rate

3.     Language Content / Communication

Vocabulary

·      Nouns: Warm up, basic physical abilities, resistance, strength, flexibility, speed, health, heart rate, respiratory rate, games, exercises,

·      Verbs: to train, to strech, to run.

·      Adjectives: strong, fast, flexible, resistant, far, near.

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

Structures

·      Routines:  Do you know how we can stretch (the triceps)?, what do you have to do to increase your heart rate?,

·      How can you measure your heart rate? Are you doing any exercise in your free time?

·      Grammar contents: verb to play, to run, to do and to be, present simple and continuos.

·      Classroom managementCome in, come here, let's go, stop, silence please or shut up.

Discourse type

The type of discourse will be mainly a description of the activities, games or tasks to be carried out and the

exposition of the definitions of the different basic physical abilities that will later be worked on in a practical way.

Language Skills

The linguistic skills students will use are mainly listening and speaking. Listen to the definitions and descriptions given by the teacher, and speak when questions arise about the content worked on.

4.     Contextual (cultural) elements

We are going to learn the basic physical activity and their relation with health, more over, trying to do practical lessons where student undertands what is their physical fitness and how they can improve.

5.     Cognitive (thinking) processes

Listen the definition, practice exercices and test about the diferent abilities, introduce their marks in a grafics and practice diferents type of training focus on health.

6a. Task/s

At the end of the unit, they have to analyce their abilities and make a hypotetical training for them.

6b. Activities

LESSON 1.

Every links will be published in the google classroom

An initial session will be worked on to deal with the contents of the warm-up and the basic terms in English, for them, a general warm-up will be carried out in a practical way. Explanatory video on general warm-up.

To undertand the differents stages of the warm-up you can use this activity REA sobre Calentamiento

After every lessons, students have to do one page of this Homework.

LESSONS 2 to 5.

Firstly, motivational video, get out of your armchair!

The next 4 sessions will be for each of the basic physical abilities, carrying out a warm-up in the first place, in which work is continued on why and for what is done, then, definition of the appropriate capacity, both in English and in Spanish, continued capacity development activities, where the differences between them and to interpreted them in the body. Glossary for students

For Flexibility,

·      Activities for flexibility

·      Video 1

·      Session example in Spanish (de Alberto Ramirez Huertas)

For Speed:

·      Speed games

·      Speed, agility and quicktime

For Strength:

·      Strength games

·

For Resistence:

·      Resistance games (spanish)

·      Resistance activities with a partner

·      Cool down activity; quiz about resistance

LESSONS 6 and 7

Once the 4 capacities and the terms in English have been worked on, another 2 sessions of development and practical differentiation of the capacities through circuits are continued (for example), and as reinforcement the students will be able to look for stretches in the following educational resource of stretching

·      Lesson 6 speed and strength:

o   Speed circuit

o   Strength exercises, also you can use smartphones with app to train the strength like entrenamientos caseros, or de differents apps of runtastic.

·      Lesson 7 resistance and flexibility:

o   Circuito de resistencia (video)

o   Flexibility routine

oFlexibility routine two

Every abilities will be work with circuit training using the diferents exercises at the link, however, all of the exercise should be adapted to your students capacities.

à Do you want to know more? Why exercise is wise?

LESSON 8

In the last lesson, the students are given an Excel that they must fill in with the tests that were carried out in the last session, test of the 4 CFB,

·       Ruffier-Dicson test for resistance,

·       stand and reach test for flexibility,

·       20 m test for speed

·       Push-ups test for strength.

Students must take the tests, reflect their grade and relate it to the capacity they measure. Once the tests have been interpreted, they should conduct a search on the internet and consider how they would train to improve the physical capacity in which the worst results were obtained.

6.     Methodology

·      Organization and class distribution / timing: This Unit is the second of the first quarter, and it has 8 lessons.

·      Resources / Materials: All the material of PE like foam balls, mattresses, exercise ball, elastic bands…

Photocopies with the most importants things to learn.

Gloogle Classroom to give the different material and link to the student.

·      Key Competences All the key competences will be worked on, with special emphasis on social and civic  competence and the competence to learn to learn.

7.     Evaluation (criteria and instruments)

Criteria: see point 1

Instruments: Evaluation rubric in which, on the one hand, the practical part will be evaluated, if it participates and tries to improve its basic physical abilities, the instrument will be the different tests, and on the other hand, if it knows how to differentiate and define the physical capacities basic, for this we have the final task in which they have to assess the tests they have been worked on, relate them to basic physical abilities and plan their training according to the results.

·      RUBRIC, the rubric has been created with corubrics and it allows teachers to share it in google classroom, to send coevaluation and self-evaluation rubrics also to send the results to the students.

*More information about corubrics is showed in http://corubrics-es.tecnocentres.org
