Cells and tissues

CELLS AND TISSUES.

This unit is addressed to students of Physiopathology in CFGS "Anatomía Patológica y Citodiagnóstico" and CFGS "Laboratorio Clínico y Biomédico" in Vocational Training. This topic serves as a scaffolding to understand and learn the basic concepts that will be needed in the following lessons.

Students will learn the key words and grammar structures necessary to work on the didactic unit and to be able to conclude it, by carrying out the final project of the topic; which is a presentation about the 4 major types of biological tissues and their subtypes that they will show to the rest of the class.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Identify the four main tissue types.
  2. Discuss the functions of each tissue type.
  3. Relate the structure of each tissue type to their function.
  4. Discuss the embryonic origin of tissue.
  5. Know the vocabulary about cells and tissues, and the grammatical structures that are needed to explain the contents of the topic.

We will need 8 sessions to develop the contents of the topic.

-          Learn the specific vocabulary of the topic through flashcards, and quizzes

-          Watch videos about the level of organization of living things.

-          Classify the different types of tissues and present the work to the class.

The final project consists of developing a conceptual map of the different types and subtypes of tissues to present to the class. Examples of maps are shown to help students prepare the project.
