Can you feel it?

Course/Level: 3rd PRIMARY

Subject: NATURAL SCIENCES

THIS UNIT WILL WORK THE DIFFERENT ORGANS AND APPLIANCES THAT INTERVENE IN THE SENSES AND THE UNIT WILL BE CULMINATED THROUGH 5 ROUTES RELATED TO EACH SENSE ALSO AS A TRANSVERSAL THEME WITH CONTENTS OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES AREA ABOUT THE WORLD IN WHICH WE LIVE AND THE IMPACT OF THE HUMAN IN THE ENVIRONMENT, RELATED TO POLLUTION AND RECYCLING.

The objectives that are to be achieved are:

  • Recognize parts that make up the organs and devices that provide the senses.

  • Relate each sense with a route, through the dynamics created.

  • Describe what they perceive: colors and shapes, textures, tastes, smells and sounds, which are specific to the environment or are artificial.

  • Recognize the importance of all the senses to perceive, value and improve the world around us.

  • Reflect on the different senses appreciated.

The pupils will elaborate a guide where they will gather the reflections on the impact of the human being in the environment and how we perceive this through the different senses.

  • *A. Worksheet: Classify the images: The puppils will be given a template that classifies the senses and a series of letters related to these, which will be distributed throughout the classroom, will have to travel through these letters until they complete their template

  • Worksheet "Your Senses": Children will have to draw their body and mark the main senses. The puppils complete this activity by photographing each other in different actions using their senses

  • Worksheet: Link the following definitions in English with your images corresponding
  • Worksheet: What is my name?: In a drawing of an organ or apparatus in charge of a sense, they will have gaps in the parts that compose them and students should select the corresponding words in those gaps. For example:

  • Worksheet: "Which sense did we use to play?". Children will talk about the sense they've used to play, the sensory organ, and the actions.

Mind Map "The Five Senses": The pupils will have fifteen minutes to fill in the mind map in order to review the most important things about the five senses, the sensory organs, the actions and disabilitites. Afterwards, they will compare their map in pairs and discuss it with the teacher.
