Unit "Living among islands and cliffs"

              La unidad didáctica se llama "Living among islands and cliffs" y va dirigida a 4º curso de Educación Primaria, para el área de Ciencias Sociales.

El tema propuesto es el de los paisajes, y más concretamente los distintos accidentes geográficos que se encuadran en los paisajes específicos de llanura, montaña y costa. Por otra parte, se especificarán algunos casos de modificación del paisaje de forma elemental: cambios naturales y cambios humanizados.

Entre los objetivos específicos destacan:

·       Distinguir algunos accidentes geográficos como río, llanura, lago, montaña, acantilado...

·       Comprender cómo los paisajes cambian por cambios naturales o humanizadas.

·       Reconocer imágenes de paisajes de llanura, montaña y costa.

Dichos objetivos se podrán cumplir en el aula mediante las actividades propuestas en alrededor de 8 sesiones aproximadamente.  

1.     Lluvia de ideas para recordar y comenzar con el vocabulario.

2.     Cantar una canción y completar huecos.

3.     Ver un vídeo para recordar y aprender accidentes geográficos.

4.     Leer breves definiciones de paisajes.

5.     Fichas con ejercicios para utilizar y recordar dicho vocabulario.

6.     Diferenciar paisaje natural y humanizado a través de ejercicios de unir con flechas, ordenar letras,…

7.     Jugar a variados juegos en internet para repasar lo aprendido.

8.     La tarea final consistirá en dibujar un paisaje en parejas y completar una ficha con los aprendizajes adquiridos: tipos de paisajes, accidentes geográficos y modificación del paisaje.

Los recursos utilizados serán la pizarra digital, las fichas elaboradas, conexión a internet, los portátiles y las páginas web siguientes:

1.     Canción.

2.     Vídeo modificación del paisaje.

3.     Juegos interactivos 1 2

4.     Vídeos para repasar el vocabulario 3 4

5.     Tarea final

CLIL didactic unit: Oral exploration

Course/Level: 1º Oral Hygiene

Subject: Exploration of the oral cavity

The main learning outcome of the present CLIL didactic unit is to performs the history and exploration of the oral cavity, identifying its characteristics. Therefore, the following objectives are proposed:                                   

·       To Know the ergonomic position of the hygienist and the placement of the patient during the exploration.

·       To simulate exploration techniques

·       To identify the necessary material for dental exploration.

·       To have a careful attitude during the exploration.           

The following activities are proposed to help achieve the above objectives.

SEASON 1: Dental hygiene (start-up activity)

-        Timing: 1 x 50 minutes

-        Material required: computers with Internet

-        Grouping: pairs

-        Focus on content: oral hygiene habits.

-        Focus on languages: reading a questionare, interpretation of the results, learn dentistry vocabulary.

SEASON 2 AND 3: Dental check-up

-        Timing: 2 x 50 minutes

-        Material required: paper, pen and dictionary.

-        Resources: reading worksheet.

 

SEASON 4 AND 5: Dental materials and instruments

-          Timing: 2 x 50 minutes

-          Material required: paper, pen and dictionary.

-          Grouping: pairs

-          Focus on content: dental materials and instruments

-          Focus on languages: learn dentistry vocabulary.

-          Resources: vocabulary worksheet.

 

SEASON 6: Tooth

-          Timing: 1 x 50 minutes

-          Material required: paper, pen, colours and dictionary.

-          Grouping: pairs

-          Focus on content: intraoral exploration of the patient.

-          Focus on languages: learn dentistry vocabulary.

-          Resources: vocabulary worksheet.

 

SEASON 7 and 8: Dental medical history

-          Timing: 2 x 50 minutes

-          Material required: paper, pen and dictionary.

-          Grouping: pairs

-          Focus on content: oral exploration of the patient.

-          Focus on languages: learning dentistry vocabulary and grammar (present and past simple), and to practice speaking.

-          Resources: translation and reading worksheet

 

SEASON 9, 10 AND 11: Oral exploration (practical activity)

-          Timing: 3 x 50 minutes

-          Material required: dental chairs, stools and dental exploration instruments.

-          Grouping: small groups

-          Focus on content: oral exploration of the patient.

-          Focus on languages: speaking about the procedure to follow in an oral exploration and learn dentistry vocabulary.

-          Resources: a practical guide

 

SEASON 12 AND 13: Eggsperiment

-          Timing: 2 x 50 minutes

-          Material required: glass measurement cup, toothpaste, fresh eggs, table vinegar, plastic wrap, marker, clear nail polish, paper towel and teaspoon.

-          Grouping: small groups

-          Focus on content: oral exploration of the patient.

-          Focus on languages: understand the process of caries development and learn dentistry vocabulary.

-          Resources: a practical guide.

 

SEASON 14: Kahhot game (final activity)

-          Timing: 1 x 50 minutes

-          Material required: computers with Internet

-          Grouping: individual

-          Focus on content: oral exploration of the patient.

-          Focus on languages: reading about oral exploration and learn dentistry vocabulary.
